Mechanical Thermostats
provide the lowest cost solution for providing temperature control,
but are limited to turning the heater on and off and must be used near
the pipe being controlled. Control
Systems are more expensive, but offer many additional features
including temperature alarms, heater monitoring and communications.
Approved or certified
temperature controllers must be used when installed in hazardous locations
(explosive gases or dust).
